Maricopans apparently aren’t big on celebrating Easter – at least in terms of attending worship services.

Our informal weekly poll last week asked the question, “What are your plans for Easter?”

Nearly 63% of the 122 respondents said church services were not a part of their Easter celebration: 32.5% responded, “We have a feast but don’t go to church” and another 30.9% said they do not celebrate Easter at all.

Of the respondents who said church services were a part of their Easter holiday, 17.1% said they did so with “church and a small get-together with family and friends.”

Another 13% go all out with “the whole nine yards: church, a big family gathering and an Easter Egg hunt.”

Rounding out the poll were the 6.5% of respondents who said they attended church but didn’t “worry about the feast.”
