Nothing screams “American cuisine” like a hamburger.

Extra lettuce, hold the pickles?

Or a plant-based burger? That’s impossible.

No matter how you like it, there’s no shortage of local spots to fill that hamburger-shaped hole in your stomach. That’s why InMaricopa asked our readers this week who they think serves the best patty in town.

Two in 5 voters said Maricopa’s newest burger joint stacks up best against the competition. Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers opened in March.

Winning the fast-food vote and coming in second place overall, Culver’s butterburgers glazed Maricopans’ taste buds just right. One in 5 people said their burgers are the best.

Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers came in third place, racking up 11% of votes.

Some readers prefer to order their burgers at Root’s Eatery, which claimed 7% of votes. It was followed by Native Grill & Wings, which garnered 5% of votes.

The Roost and Headquarters, or The New HQ, both gathered 4% of votes.

Eight chain restaurants gleaned the remaining votes: Wendy’s and Jack In The Box both took 2.6% of the vote. Burger King (1.73%), Denny’s (1.39%), McDonald’s (1.21%) and Sonic Drive-In (0.35%) followed.

IHOP and Dairy Queen only received one singular vote each.
