A car went off the road, over a sidewalk and crashed into a wall moments ago on Honeycutt Road just before the stoplight at John Wayne Parkway.
Maricopa police and fire responded and were on the scene checking out the driver of the red Toyota Prius at 6:07 p.m.
The yellow cinderblock retaining wall in front of the Maricopa Business Center did not appear heavily damaged.
Reporters on the scene asked an MPD officer what caused the driver to go into the wall and if there were injuries, and the reporters were directed to a department spokesperson.
“It was a single-vehicle crash into the wall and nearby light pole,” MPD spokesperson Monica Williams said. “There were no injuries to the driver. What led to the crash is still yet to be determined.”
This is a breaking story. It will be updated when more information is gathered.
