Road-rageous driver stabs woman’s tire

An enraged 29-year-old motorist faces criminal charges after he stabbed the tire of a woman’s car when she cut him off.

Police arrested Alan M. Martinez-Mireles on Wednesday and charged him with recklessly displaying a dangerous instrument, a felony, and misdemeanor counts of criminal damage and disorderly conduct, according to a Maricopa Police Department probable cause statement.

The victim said Martinez-Mireles got out of his red Honda Civic at the corner of John Wayne Parkway and Edison Road. He started yelling at her because she cut him off, she said.

She said he pulled out a black-handled, 3-inch knife and stabbed her rear driver-side tire.

Martinez-Mireles then jumped back into his car and drove away.  The woman captured of photo of him in his sedan.

A witness saw the incident and told law enforcement she heard a loud boom as the tire popped. Both women pulled over and provided photos of Martinez-Mireles.

The suspect was later arrested at a home on West Vera Cruz Drive in Rancho Mirage.

Martinez-Mireles faces three years in prison.
