String of car burglaries rocks Rancho Mirage, cops appeal to public

Maricopa Police Department is asking Rancho Mirage residents to check their surveillance cameras after a string of vehicle burglaries in the neighborhood overnight.

There were at least six unsecured vehicles burglarized in Rancho Mirage, according to the police statement, which urges anyone who finds their vehicle broken into to report the crime to by contacting the non-emergency line at 520-568-3673.

“We also remind residents to lock their vehicles, close their garages and refrain from keeping valuable items in their vehicles while unattended,” the statement said.

Residents with home security cameras can also register them with the Maricopa police’s Camera Registration Program, which does not give police access to your cameras, but lets them know which homes near a crime might have caught a crucial detail so they can request it as needed.
