A two-car crash on Smith-Enke Road meant a bit of extra rush-hour backup for some commuters this afternoon.
Maricopa police and fire crews at 5 p.m. responded to the crash at Vintage Drive, according to city spokesperson Monica Williams.
A black Toyota sedan and red Jeep SUV in the intersection sustained heavy damage consistent with a T-bone collision. Airbags in the Toyota were deployed.
Police directed traffic because the crash blocked one lane of both east and westbound traffic. It was cleared by 5:29 p.m.
“One person was evaluated on scene by MFMD but was not transported to the hospital,” Williams said.
Another crash at the same intersection hospitalized a motorcyclist Wednesday.
