City staffers will install traffic control changes in Rancho El Dorado to lessen the impact of non-residents cutting through to avoid construction zones on Smith-Enke Road.
New traffic warning signs on Rancho El Dorado Parkway near West Placone Road and just west of Goles Drive say there would be traffic control changes in the area today through Sept. 19.
“The city and the HOA are in communication and working together to lessen the impact of non-Rancho El Dorado residents utilizing the streets through the community to avoid the Smith-Enke intersection roadwork and lane restrictions,” city spokesperson Monica Williams said.
She declined to comment on more details about the changes because “we don’t want people to think it’s a designated detour,” but that RED residents “will see the temporary changes in the coming week or so.”
“It will be pretty clear when they go up,” Williams said.
As a detour, the city asks residents to use Honeycutt Road then to go north on John Wayne Parkway to avoid the Smith-Enke lane restrictions.
