Southwest Gas advertorial

Southwest Gas is proud to serve the City of Maricopa. For decades, we’ve helped heat homes, deliver hot showers and cook meals in Maricopa affordably, reliably and safely. We’re deeply rooted in the community and fondly recall serving growers, feed lots and other agribusiness customers long before the city grew into the diverse and prosperous community Maricopa is today.

Our Company is committed to our long-standing partnership with the City of Maricopa and are excited about the future. A “yes” vote on Proposition 452 will establish a franchise agreement between the city and Southwest Gas, granting us non-exclusive rights to use streets, alleys and other public places to serve current and new customers in Maricopa. As part of the agreement, Southwest Gas will provide Maricopa an annual payment equal to 2% of the gross revenues that the company generates within the city. These funds will support critical city services like public safety, road repair and parks and recreation programs.

Natural gas is part of a balanced energy mix and helps keep household utility costs affordable for Maricopa customers. In addition, natural gas infrastructure is a key component for vibrant growth and business attraction. Natural gas is a critical energy source for manufacturers, bio-tech companies, and other industries integral to Arizona’s economy including the restaurant, lodging and tourism, and residential and commercial building industries. Your “Yes” vote on Prop 452 will ensure Maricopa remains an attractive place to live, work and play.

Southwest Gas is committed to ensuring Maricopa residents and businesses can rely on safe, affordable and clean natural gas for their home-comfort and commercial needs for years to come. We respectfully ask for you to vote “yes” on Proposition 452 to secure Maricopa’s energy future. Thank you for allowing us to serve you. Together, let’s keep growing!
