Maricopa Unified School District Governing Board meets at 6:30 p.m. in the district office to further discuss and possibly decide on calling an election for a budget override.
THURSDAY
Maricopa Shark Tank is from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center at Maricopa High School.This year’s program expanded to elementary and middle schools as students vie for prizes for their entrepreneurial ideas.
SATURDAY
Fall Fling Craft/Vendor Event is from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Maricopa Community Church, 44977 W. Hathaway Ave. Lots of holiday crafts and gift-giving ideas, plus activities for children.
Maricopa Pet Adoption Event is from 8 a.m. to noon at The Pet Club. Pinal County Animal Care and Control will have a nice selection of adoptable animals.
Stagestop Marketplace Farmers’ Market Holiday Boutique is from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Stagestop Marketplace, 44301 W. Maricopa/Casa Grande Highway.The boutique will feature unique interior and exterior furnishings, holiday decor and specialty food treats.

Miss City of Maricopa Scholarship Pageant starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Maricopa High School Performing Arts Center, 45012 W. Honeycutt Ave. Tickets will be $15 at the door. This year’s crowns up for grabs are: Miss City of Maricopa, Miss City of Maricopa Outstanding Teen; Miss Pinal County, Miss Pinal County Outstanding Teen; Miss Estrella Mountain, Miss Estrella Mountain Outstanding Teen.
