Maricopa Police Department arrested a man accused of trying to stab his girlfriend’s daughters with a pair of scissors on Thanksgiving.
Police arrested 52-year-old Nolan R. Jackson after he admitted to grabbing the scissors and telling his girlfriend’s daughters to “get the f*ck out” of his house, according to a probable cause statement obtained by InMaricopa.
Cops responded to a home on West Prado Street in Rancho Mirage just before 5 p.m. Thursday. The girlfriend and her two daughters said Jackson tried to stab them with a pair of scissors.
Jackson’s girlfriend told police he “popped off” and started an argument with her daughters, who were visiting for the holiday. She said Jackson was drunk and she believed he was high on cocaine.
She alleged her boyfriend held one her daughters at knifepoint before forcing the family out of the house.
One of the daughters told cops Jackson tried to stab her.
Officers arrested Jackson around 5:30 p.m. He admitted to telling his girlfriend’s daughter’s to “get the f*ck out” after they “ran up” on him. He also admitted to grabbing the scissors because he was in his house and claimed he was within his rights.
Police found the scissors next to a knife and a bottle of pills.
Jackson was booked into the Pinal County jail on two felony counts of aggravated assault and two misdemeanor counts of assault and disorderly conduct.
He faces more than 10 years in prison.
