After weeks on the run, suspect in huge drug bust turns herself in

A woman police say is connected to a large Hidden Valley drug stash turned herself in without incident this week.

Susana Maria Kelly, 55, turned herself in to the Maricopa Police Department just before 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday. She was arrested and booked into the Pinal County jail, authorities said.

Kelly had been wanted by police since reportedly fleeing an Aug. 7 traffic stop with her partner, Arlie J. Perryman.

The pair drew attention earlier this month when officers conducting a stakeout on Whirly Bird Road observed Perryman carrying a tan duffel bag into a shed before leaving with Kelly and another man. When officers tried to stop them, Perryman allegedly sped away.

Police later served a search warrant at their Hidden Valley home, where they discovered 148 grams of meth, 5 grams of cocaine, two firearms (one stolen), ammunition and drug paraphernalia inside the duffel bag.

Investigators said they also located additional drugs tied to Kelly. In Kelly’s arrest filing, police list those drugs as 48 grams of methamphetamine, 22 grams of fentanyl powder, 64 LSD tabs, two M30 blue fentanyl pills, and multiple pipes and scales.

Perryman, 43, remains at large. He has a federal warrant, a history of fleeing and resisting arrest, and is a prohibited possessor of firearms, police said.

Charges filed against Perryman include unlawful flight, possession and sale of dangerous drugs, narcotics for sale, theft of a firearm and weapons offenses.

Now that she’s turned herself in, Kelly faces charges of dangerous drugs for sale, narcotics for sale, possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia. She may have a negotiating chip on the table.
