New city documents released ahead of tonight’s Planning and Zoning Commission meeting show new design details for the upcoming Buffalo Wild Wings on Stonegate Road in the Maricopa Power Center.
It’s the first movement on the sports bar we’ve seen in over a year.
According to a staff memo, the proposed 7,644-square-foot restaurant will occupy a 1½-acre parcel just north of Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway. The site plan includes 120 parking spaces, with three designated for electric vehicle charging. Those EV spaces were added as part of a city-approved setback reduction agreement.
Color elevations show a contemporary, one-story design with matte black metal panels, wood-style fiber cement siding and the chain’s signature safety-yellow accents.
The restaurant will be owned and operated by LaHaise Management AZ, the local arm of a North Dakota–based franchisee with a 25-year history in the Buffalo Wild Wings brand. Plans call for seating for about 275 patrons indoors plus additional outdoor dining space, with daily operating hours from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.
The development includes two full access points along the private drive and underground stormwater retention. City staff said the project will not be phased and reported no public opposition as of this week.
If approved, the restaurant would anchor the eastern edge of the Maricopa Power Center, joining nearby plans for a hotel and multi-unit housing to the west and north.
The Planning and Zoning Commission meets tonight at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 39700 W. Civic Center Plaza. See the new color elevations here.
