Fire investigators are still trying to determine what caused the blaze at Duke’s Roadhouse Saturday night. The investigators today confirmed there were no injuries.
“The cause remains undetermined at this time and is under investigation,” said Maricopa Fire Department spokesperson Monica Williams this afternoon.
What is known is that it was a debris fire underneath the building’s northern patio. There was no structural damage, firefighters said.
It’s a likely setback for the local concept spun off of Nashville’s The Stillery, which has been in the works in the former A1 Pawn in Maricopa’s old town for two years and counting.
The honky-tonk March 3 had filed a half-dozen new documents with the city, such as blueprints and construction plans.

On Sunday, the doors were boarded up and burnt debris remained scattered on the patio and dirt area north of the building. What appeared to be a burnt cart and paint cans were among the debris.
It’s been a busy week for local firefighters, who responded to a house fire, mobile home fire and work truck fire in quick succession.
