City releases renderings for Stonegate multifamily housing

A pedestrian-friendly rental neighborhood is a step closer to reality.

Real estate developer Dominium submitted additional pre-application paperwork last week for its proposed build-to-rent housing development, Maricopa Stonegate, for a major development review permit.

This type of permit is required by city code for any new or modified development over 5,000 gross square feet and may be reviewed by the Planning and Zoning Commission.

Renderings show a collection of Spanish Colonial-influenced buildings in earthy tones with tiled roofs, stone facades and stucco walls. In other words, they look like condensed versions of typical Maricopa homes.

The development proposes 215 rental units that feature two, three or four bedrooms. According to the project narrative, units will have luxury vinyl plank and carpet floors, nine-foot ceilings, in-unit washers and dryers, stone countertops and private backyards.

Information as to when the city will approve permits or a construction timeline were not immediately available.
