In an exciting celebration of freedom and culture, the Chrysalis Non-Profit Organizations President Joanna Vanderpool invites all residents of Maricopa and surrounding areas to join the annual Juneteenth Celebration on June 15, 2024. The community of all ages is invited to celebrate Juneteenth, the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of ending slavery in the United States.

The event will commence with a ceremonial reading of the Emancipation Proclamation, a significant moment in our history. This will be followed by captivating performances from local musicians and poets. Attendees can delve into cultural exhibitions, relish traditional foods, and engage in educational workshops meticulously designed to deepen their understanding of this pivotal moment in American history.
