East Maricopa, your shopping dreams are about to come true.
Fry’s Marketplace is working to build a second location in the city, this time away from the main strip on the northwest corner of Farrell and White-and-Parker Roads, according to public records released yesterday to InMaricopa.
Once Aldi is finished and this project wins approval, Maricopa would gain its fifth standalone grocery store.

What we know: Developers said they “submitted a development review permit application to develop 24 acres … as a Fry’s Marketplace anchored commercial development.” And InMaricopa’s previous reporting stated the grocery store would measure about 121,000 square feet, have an associated fuel station and 725 parking spaces.
What we don’t know: No other businesses were named, but an updated proposed site plan for the San Travasa Commercial Center shows three buildings for retail shops, as well as a bank and three fast-food restaurants along White and Parker.
Now that’s interesting: The narrative also stated the developer is “working on an accelerated timeframe,” and is ready to submit documents to begin shoveling dirt.
