A month ago, they hinted at an opening date. Now, Lowe’s Home Improvement is ready to let the masses know.
Maricopa’s next big-box home improvement retailer confirmed today it will host a grand opening at its newest location, 44400 W. Honeycutt Ave., on July 25, a Friday.
“We’re super close,” Store Manager Adrienne Gile told InMaricopa this morning. “The community is really excited about [the opening], which makes it more fun. The buzz and the amount of people we get showing up or asking about the opening is super cool.”

Contractors were observed installing displays and warehouse bays in preparation for when merchandise begins arriving in the coming weeks. Gile added that the Maricopa staff have started training.
Oh, and about those workers: “Almost every single employee at this brand-new Lowe’s is out of Maricopa,” Gile said.
Corporate spokesperson Michael Allinger confirmed this, saying the city had “a great pool of candidates.”
Allinger added the store is now fully staffed, but additional job positions “could be posted sporadically depending on needs.”
The store will start the ribbon-cutting festivities with a weeklong soft opening starting July 17 featuring small community events. The grand opening comes a week later.
“The 25th will be our big grand opening. We’ll have food and swag and vendors here the whole night,” Gile said.
She said with the city’s continued growth, the company felt “very lucky” to enter the Maricopa market.
“There’s a mix of new people moving into Maricopa and the people who have been here 20 years, so we get to help all of them,” she said. “We can impact people’s lives in big ways, whether we get to save them on a tough day from a broken water heater or we get to help them design that dream kitchen. We just feel very lucky to be here.”

Mooresville, N.C.-based Lowe’s will become the second business to open at the new South Bridge Marketplace development after a Trulieve cannabis dispensary opened in January. Still slated for the plaza are a Panera Bread, Five Guys, Einstein Bros. Bagels, Aldi grocery store and three personal-care businesses. Developer Thompson Thrift submitted plans for the final development phase, comprising three buildings, to the city May 14.
