Pinal County Sheriff’s Office today named the motorcyclist who died in a crash on Honeycutt Road Saturday night.

Jordan Piergrossi, 47, died when he was struck by a driver investigators now believe was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Public records show Piergrossi lived in Mesa.

Just after 9:30 p.m. that night, Maricopa Police Department requested assistance from Pinal County Vehicular Crimes Task Force when it responded to a car versus motorcycle collision at West Honeycutt Road and Continental Avenue, just south of North White and Parker Road.

When officers arrived, they found the motorcyclist in the roadway. He died on the scene.

“The driver of a passenger car turned in front of a motorcycle,” PCSO spokesperson Lauren Reimer told InMaricopa today. “DUI impairment was suspected, and blood evidence was collected for testing.”

Toxicology reports are pending.

PCSO did not name the driver suspected of DUI.
