Nando’s Mexican Café announced it plans to start slinging tacos and margaritas to hungry Maricopans in just a matter of weeks.

“We still do not know a set date we are going to open, we just know it will be sometime in the first two weeks of March,” Director of Operations Marijka Anderson said Friday.

She added the restaurant will finalize an opening date soon.

This is the fourth time the restaurant will push its opening date. In October, Nando’s said it was hopeful for a February opening.

Upcoming hiring events

Looking to snag a job at this sit-down Mexican restaurant? Nando’s will host two hiring events in the next two weeks.

On Wednesday, the restaurant will host a hiring event for back-of-house staff — line cooks, prep cooks and dishwashers — from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the restaurant at John Wayne Parkway and Edison Road.

“We are so excited for our hiring event next week,” Anderson said. “We will be taking applications for Back of House kitchen staff on Wednesday.”

Hirings for front-of-house staff— servers, hosts and bartenders—will take place 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1.

Anderson said the restaurant may host one additional hiring event the following week, but a date and time have not been determined.
