No tacos this Tuesday: Nando’s closed ‘until further notice’

Nando’s Mexican Café, the city’s newest taqueria that opened March 26, did not open for lunch today at 11 a.m. like usual.

“Due to a power outage, our Maricopa location will be closed until further notice,” Nando’s said in a statement. “We will update you as soon as power has been restored.”

The reason for the outage is unknown. Electrical District No. 3 could not locate any reported outages in its North Central region, where Nando’s is located, at 12:30 p.m.

The Mesa-based chain said it did not know when its Maricopa restaurant, the company’s fifth metro Phoenix location, would reopen.

“Thank you for your patience and understanding,” today’s statement read.
