Maricopa Police Department is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Tortosa in connection with a manhunt in the subdivision earlier in the day.

Police are reporting the suspect, Codey Foy, sustained a gunshot wound to the left hand. The wound is described as non-life-threatening. The incident involved an off-duty border patrol agent, according to MPD spokesman Ricardo Alvarado.

The border patrol agent was reportedly unharmed in the incident.

Foy was wanted in connection with a stolen truck, and Pinal County Sheriff’s Office had issued a “be on the lookout” notice.  A report of an individual matching Foy’s description came in around 2 p.m., and MPD closed off traffic from Honeycutt Road at the roundabout by Santa Cruz Elementary. They searched door to door and called in a PCSO  helicopter, but Foy could not be found until after 6 p.m.

There was a report of a shot fired as police closed off Picasso Street. More information is pending.
