A 2-year-old girl died after drowning in a pool Wednesday evening, according to Maricopa Police.
Officials said crews responded to a drowning call at a Cobblestone Farms home near John Wayne Parkway and Cobblestone Farms Drive just after 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. The girl was found by family members and pulled from the home pool before fire and medical crews arrived.
The girl was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition and died Thursday morning.
The Maricopa Police Department said an investigation into the drowning is ongoing.
