A woman shopping at Walmart was hit by a truck while crossing a marked crosswalk in the parking lot this afternoon.
The woman was knocked to the ground and suffered a minor lower-leg injury, according to Maricopa Police Department spokesperson Monica Williams. The woman who was hit was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.
The victim was crying as she was loaded onto a stretcher by Maricopa Fire and Medical personnel. Police temporarily shut down the roadway while officers investigated. At least three patrol vehicles were on scene. The driver was not inside the white pickup truck at the time of the recording.

An eyewitness to the crash said the driver tried to rush past turning vehicles when the pedestrian was hit.
The ambulance and fire crews left shortly before 1 p.m. No citations or arrests were immediately announced.
