Two people suffered minor injuries after a two-car crash near Copper Sky Regional Park this morning.

Maricopa police responded to the site of a damaged Jeep and Hyundai at West Bowlin Road and Desert Cedars Drive around 8:15 a.m.

Cpl. Cory Benoit was on the scene directing traffic around the crash as the two cars were towed and the debris was swept from the street.

Benoit said two people were transported to Exceptional Hospital with minor injuries as a precaution.

“Nowadays with the airbags, we’ve been seeing a lot less serious injuries,” Benoit said. “It just looks worse than it actually was.”

Police believe the crash may have been caused by a glare, making it hard for the drivers to see.
