300 homes planned for east Maricopa

It’s just the news Mayor Nancy Smith wanted: More homes are slated for Maricopa’s fast-growing east side.

Phoenix developer CVL Consultants plans to build a subdivision near Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway and Hartman Road, according to new documents obtained by InMaricopa.

The Sanctuary, as it’s called, will sit about a mile west of the recently approved Hartman Trails subdivision. Copies of the project narrative and preliminary site plan showed 316 single-family home lots in the initial construction phase.

A date for review by city planners or the Planning and Zoning Commission isn’t yet available.
