‘State of the City’ to highlight 20 years of progress

Mayor Nancy Smith will spotlight the city’s progress over the past year during her State of the City address. 

The presentation takes place at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the city council chambers, preceded by a 5 p.m. city-hosted reception in City Hall’s lobby. 

“This year is extra special as we mark Maricopa’s 20th anniversary,” said city spokesperson Monica Williams. “The evening’s presentation will include a stirring stroll down memory lane and see just how far we’ve come as a community in two decades.” 

Smith’s speech will also examine how the city is planning ahead, and how Maricopa residents are making a positive impact on the community.
