A machinist, a life coach and a pool builder were among five companies approved to operate within Maricopa city limits during the past week.
Permits are required for all companies to operate and are valid for one year. The five permits total one less permit than was issued by the city last week.
Of the businesses approved to operate, three are local and Maricopa-based, and the other two are Valley-based ventures.
