Charity Golf Tournament

The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with Global Water, Wal-Mart stores in Pinal County, the Maricopa Optimist Club and The UPS Store in Maricopa to promote a Charity Golf Tournament at The Royal Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa on Monday, Sept. 17. Foursomes will be paired with a deputy sheriff for a shotgun start.

The public is invited to consider donating prizes for a silent auction or a cash donation. The purpose of the golf tournament is to provide community support for a low income child and his or her family. The children will be chosen from fifth graders concentrated in the Maricopa and Stanfield areas. Additionally, students will be chosen from other areas of Pinal County as well.

The students, who are identified by school officials, a patrol deputy or social service organization and who have not received high achievement but have shown to be good citizens, will be asked to participate in a coloring contest with a short essay regarding, ‘How law enforcement helps the community.’ This concept will enable the students who participate to win a $750 shopping spree at Wal-mart.

Once the winners are announced, each child will be accompanied by a sheriff’s deputy for their holiday shopping.
