Fees for memberships and activities at Copper Sky recreational center will increase in 2023. The City also will raise fees for facilities rental and programs at the library and senior center effective Jan. 1.

The Copper Sky Multigenerational Recreation Center will reopen Thursday on a reservation-only basis to facilitate physical distancing.

The facility will open with limited hours before ramping up to full hours next week.

Pinal County is not yet within the Moderate range benchmarks set by the Arizona Department of Health Services, so additional restrictions were required to get state approval to reopen, according to a city news release.

Copper Sky will operate with limited capacity during the following hours:

  • Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Sunday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Monday (Labor Day), 7 a.m. to noon
  • Tuesday, 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Reservations will be required for all members. One-hour blocks will be available for the Gym Floor or Fitness Floor, including regularly-scheduled fitness classes. Upon members’ first-return visit, patrons will check in to Member Services to reactivate their membership and utilize self check-in thereafter.

Additional details regarding specific requirements will be released Tuesday. The Copper Sky Facebook Page has more information.

In late June, it was announced that three Copper Sky lifeguards had tested positive for coronavirus. At the same time, the facility was again closed to the public by an executive order of the Arizona governor.
