A man returns a check, and a contractor is accused of running off with $3,600

Police blotter is not yet available in electronic format from Maricopa Police, but is open for viewing during regular business hours.

Here are some of the highlights from overnight:

SUSPICIOUS BEHAVIOR
A couple reported that 10:10 p.m. Tuesday they were sitting in their home in the 2200 block of North Vargas Drive in Rancho El Dorado when they heard their doorbell ring. The couple went to answer the door only to find that the door had been tied shut. The couple reports seeing four people run from their property.

BREACH OF CONTRACT
Someone has accused landscaper contractor Frankie Alonso at 1:54 p.m. Tuesday of collecting the sum of $3,600 for landscaping to be done in the 41200 block of West Hayden Drive in Homestead and then not performing the services agreed to in the contract.

ABANDONED VEHICLE
A woman reported at 4:24 p.m. Tuesday that a sliver four door Honda had been abandoned in the 45000 block of Desert Cedars Lane in Desert Cedars.

ILLEGAL DUMPING
Some one reported seeing a man dumping trash at 7:50 a.m. Tuesday near the Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway behind a building near an entrance to Senita.

RETURNED CHECK
A man reported at 12:20 p.m. Tuesday that he had found a check in his mail box that did not belong to him. The man, who lives in the 45700 block of West Tulip Lane in Maricopa Meadows, said he wished to return the check to its rightful owner.

SUSPICIOUS BEHAVIOR
A woman reported having witnessed at 7:21 p.m. Tuesday that near the 20000 block of North John Wayne Parkway some boys pulling a string across a parking lot in an apparent attempt to trip people.
