On Saturday, May 13, a Community Cancer Benefit was held to aid the Jackson and Masters families. Both of them have a husband and father battling cancer. Approximately 30 Maricopa businesses donated to the event, as well as 45 families or individuals (see related story).

Members of the Jackson family extend the following public “thank you” message:

We want to take a minute and thank all those who have blessed our lives
during this challenging time. There are so many we would like to thank
personally with a loaf of bread, a card or a special something, but, time and
resources being what they are, we extend this loving, public thank you.

To everyone who has helped in so many ways, we thank God for you, your
compassionate service and kind hearts. You have been angels to us. We want to mention a few of you with the understanding that these few coordinated the great work of many, whose names are not mentioned, in organizing the benefit and other needful things.

We want to especially thank Carrie Goettl and Chantelle Taylor. We want to thank community members for caring about us and blessing our lives with your friendship, love and willing services. We would like to thank the
many businesses and those strangers (who having been touched by cancer in
some way) who extended sweet kindnesses to us.

We want to thank our Heavenly Father for our blessings, inspiring good people to bless our lives, and for giving us opportunities to grow!

We are so grateful to be a part of this wonderful community! Thank you
so very, very much!
