Whether you are new to solar energy, or almost an expert, you will find answers to your questions at an all-day solar conference from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, April 23, at Sun City Anthem at Merrill Ranch in Florence.

Highlighting the speaker lineup will be Paul Newman, a commissioner with the Arizona Corporation Commission, who will talk about solar leadership at the ACC. Other topics discussed at this county-wide solar event include: residential solar costs, solar jobs and how to get them, utility incentives, small-scale solar power generation for commercial uses, recent developments in solar technology and attracting solar industry to Pinal County.

Sponsored by the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce, Pinal Partnership and S.A.N.D., the workshop is geared to everyone from local residents, landowners and business owners to Pinal County and city officials. Cost to attend is $35 per person and includes lunch. To buy a ticket, call the chamber office at 520-868-9433 or e-mail [email protected].

Prior to the solar conference, city and county officials and their staff members are invited to attend a special pre-conference seminar from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. The focus will be how their communities can install and develop their own solar assets and what steps are needed to facilitate widespread adoption of solar energy in their jurisdictions.

The day-long conference will take place in the ballroom at the Union Center, Sun City Anthem at Merrill Ranch, 3925 N. Sun City Blvd., in Florence. To register, call the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce at 520-868-9433 or e-mail [email protected].
