If you’ve ever considered a career in law enforcement, have you ever thought about joining the Arizona Department of Transportation?

ADOT’s Enforcement and Compliance Division, the law enforcement component of ADOT, is currently offering positions statewide consisting of Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board-certified law enforcement officers and customer service representatives who work to ensure commercial vehicle compliance with federal and state laws governing the size, weight, credentials and required safety equipment. Enforcement personnel are stationed at various fixed ports of entry along Arizona’s borders and also implement commercial vehicle enforcement strategies through the use of mobile units on Arizona's highways to increase transportation safety.

There is a high level of job enthusiasm and excitement among the Enforcement and Compliance Division officers who perform the law enforcement duties on behalf of ADOT.

Sgt. Stephen Lopez describes the job as “having the varied responsibilities of conducting registration compliance cases, commercial vehicle and salvage vehicle inspections, issuing citations or performing a stolen vehicle recovery, all before lunch.” Sgt. Lopez says the greatest reward is just being an integral part of ADOT’s goal and mission of providing for the safety of the traveling public and ensuring Arizona’s transportation system is safe for all to travel and enjoy.

The State of Arizona offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, wellness, life insurance for employees and dependents, short and long-term disability, and flexible spending accounts.
