October is expected to be a big month for the Ak-Chin Indian Community.

In addition to hosting Countryfest, a large music festival, and opening the much-anticipated movie theater and entertainment center, the casino will unveil a new look.

“We’re trying to put a new face on the property,” said Robert Livingston, vice president and general manager of the casino.

The $8 million renovation focused on updating Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino’s look inside and out in time for the opening of the entertainment center.
Outside the casino, a large Jacuzzi can seat as many as 35 to 40.

“It’s kind of amoeba-shaped,” Livingston said. “Two people could have their own private corner.”

The pool’s look has been revamped and now features new tile and stonework.

“We feel like we’ve greatly elevated the pool experience,” Livingston said.

The casino’s front drive is being redone to allow better accessibility to the entertainment center.

Inside, the hotel bathrooms are being re-done, one tower at a time, and the carpet in the casino and the ballroom will be replaced.
