The Ak-Chin Indian Community will continue to sponsor the reigning Arena Football League champion Arizona Rattlers. The deal includes naming rights on the Rattlers home field at US Airways Center, which will be renamed “Ak-Chin Indian Community Field.”

“We are looking forward to the possibilities this continued partnership with the Arizona Rattlers will bring to our community,” Ak-Chin Tribal Chairman Louis J. Manuel, Jr. said. “Our commitment to the community matches that of the Rattlers, and we appreciate the multiple opportunities our children will be able to participate in over the next three years.”

Governor Jan Brewer was on hand at the May 31 news conference announcing the sponsorship deal and Ak-Chin’s and the Rattlers’ support of the Children’s Heart Gallery, an organization dedicated to using the work of photographers to help older children in foster care find adoptive parents.

Ak-Chin will donate 150 tickets to the Children’s Heart Gallery for each game the rest of the season.

“We are proud to partner with the Ak-Chin Indian Community,” said Rattlers majority owner Ron Shurts. “It is an honor to not only support this tribal community but to join our efforts to make a difference in the lives of others through our community initiatives.”

“Sports is one of the things that brings partnership, brings communities together, brings families together, shows support of youth and how that brings everything together with teamwork,” Manuel said.

The Ak-Chin Indian Community is also a major sponsor of the Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee and Ak-Chin Pavilion, a concert venue in west Phoenix.
