After the recent demolition of the old market and construction of the new Ak-Chin Indian Community Vekol Market, the location will reopen the beginning of March and include a fresh-market grill, farmer’s market and a café area complete with a TV and Wi-Fi access.

“This has been a long time coming and we’re very much looking forward to reopening the market for Ak-Chin Indian Community residents to enjoy,” said the market’s general manager, Norman Potter.

“Not only is the space itself fresh and new, but we’ve added amenities for guests, in addition to grocery and convenience offerings, which were not available previously.”

The fresh market will include a deli with sandwiches made daily, a wide selection of groceries, a café area with a TV and Wi-Fi access, a patio with outside seating, and culturally indigenous foods. The market’s former space has been transformed into a space for a farmer’s market that will feature fruits, vegetables and other offerings from vendors every other weekend.

The market is at 47021 W. Farrell Road, near Cemetery Road.
