It seems as though everyone who has gone to the UltraStar Multi-tainment Center is impressed.

And they plan on going back.

Jim Rives, president and CEO of the Maricopa Economic Development Alliance, said he was “pleasantly surprised and extremely pleased” with the complex.

He said is looking forward to seeing a movie and trying out the D-Box seats that rumble in time with the movie.

Patty LaCombe, the city’s purchasing manager, said she’s excited about the dining options.

“We really need the family sit-down restaurants,” LaCombe said.

Therese Starkey, president of Maricopa Seniors, said she also is looking forward to trying the restaurants and said the entertainment center “just shows how much Maricopa is growing.”

May McCarthy said she and her family visited the center when it opened last week and have returned again and again.

“We’ve literally been there every single night,” she said.

McCarthy said she attended the “Twilight” saga marathon that opened the movie theater and center last week and has enjoyed everything from the arcade to the specialty dessert shop, Cones Café, with her family.

“It’s something for everyone,” she said.

John Donohue, board chairman of the Maricopa Chamber of Commerce, said he thought the multi-tainment center “will change the dynamics of Maricopa.”

“I think it’s fantastic,” he said, adding that it gives young people a place to go.
