Mixed reactions on Amtrak schedule changes

Beginning May 7, the Maricopa Amtrak eastbound stop time will be 5:30 a.m. on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The city expects the changes will create delays for morning commuters.

Nearly half, or 49 percent, of the 301 readers who responded to our online poll said they are not concerned about the change. Forty said they were concerned and 12 percent said they were indifferent.

For those who want to learn more about the changes, the city of Maricopa and the Arizona Department of Transportation are hosting an informational meeting 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Maricopa Unified School District administrative building, 44150 W. Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway.
