Community of Hope Church held its Eighth annual Easter Eggstravaganza Saturday at the UltraStar Multi-tainment Center, a new location for the event.

Lisa Akers, Pastor Rusty Akers’ wife, estimated between 4,000 and 6,000 people participated in the Easter festivities.

“We give out about 1,500 bags of candy,” she said.

The event included egg hunts, four bounce houses, a petting zoo, egg decorating and games such as an egg race, bunny hop, egg football throw and more.

There were hunts every 15 minutes, split up by age groups.

McKenna Warren, 8, said she collected 10 eggs she exchanged for candy. Her favorite, she said, is Twix.

“My favorite part is the bouncy houses,” she said.

Volunteers Michelle and Bryan Wilson worked the Eggstravaganza for the seventh consecutive year. This year, they helped with the egg hunt for fourth- and fifth-graders.

“Last year we were at the bouncy houses and the year before I did the egg football throw,” Michelle Wilson said.
