Area churches announce Christmas Eve special services

Various area churches will be celebrating Christmas Eve with special services to commemorate the birth of the Christ child.

First Baptist Church of Maricopa will hold a candlelight service at 6 p.m. The church is located at 18705 N. John Wayne Parkway, just south of the railroad tracks.

Church of Celebration will be heading to Pacana Park for Christmas Eve services at 4 p.m. All ages can enjoy worship, viewing “The Nativity” movie and participating in the “Christmas is FOR-giving” program. Bring a blanket or lawn chair. For more information, contact [email protected]. Hot chocolate, coffee, cider and popcorn will be provided, and there will be crafts for the children to make and do.

Community of Hope Church will hold two Christmas Eve services at Pima Butte Elementary School, 42202 W. Rancho El Dorado Parkway. The first service will begin at 4 p.m., followed by a second one at 6 p.m.

Share Christmas Eve with members of Journey United Methodist Church at 5 p.m. at Butterfield Elementary School, 43800 W. Honeycutt Rd.

Oasis Life Church’s service will begin at 6 p.m. The program will include interpretive dance, acoustic worship and Christmas carols. The message will be an interactive family one with characters and readings. Childcare will be provided for ages 0-5. The church is located at 19756 N. John Wayne Parkway, Suite 108.
