Babeu earns support of former Democratic candidate

Former Pinal County Sheriff candidate and lifelong Democrat Jayme Valenzuela announced his support for Paul Babeu’s campaign for Pinal County Sheriff.

Valenzuela is currently the Vice-Mayor of the town of Superior and spent 15 years as a Pinal County Detention Officer and later as a Pinal County Sheriff’s Deputy. In the Primary Election, Valenzuela earned 4,529 votes.

“I’ve never voted for a Republican before, but I know Paul Babeu is as fair and honest as they come, and he will bring professionalism to the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office,” Valenzuela said. “We need a disciplined leader who will bring accountability to the sheriff’s office and that’s why I urge all my friends, family and supporters to rally behind Paul Babeu.”

Babeu said he welcomed the support of Jayme Valenzuela. “I am a Republican, yet I am a police officer first, and I will always be fair, firm and consistent. Jayme is placing the safety of our deputies and our citizens above party politics, and I’m proud to receive his support.” Babeu said. “Jayme Valenzuela earned the support of thousands of voters, and I will work hard to earn their support and trust.”

Paul Babeu, candidate for Pinal County Sheriff is holding a press conference Tuesday, Sept.30, at 9 a.m. in front of the Casa Grande Police Department, (on lawn under shade of trees) located at 520 N. Marshall Street, Casa Grande.

Former sheriff candidate and lifelong Democrat Jayme Valenzuela, announced his public support for Paul Babeu’s campaign for Pinal County Sheriff. Babeu will be joined by Valenzuela to discuss public safety concerns and the future of the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office.
