Maricopa police arrested a man for cutting a Bashas’ employee with a box cutter Friday afternoon.

Officers responded to a call of an individual with a knife at Bashas’, 21044 N. John Wayne Pkwy., just before 3:30 p.m. on June 16, said MPD spokesperson Monica Williams.

Upon arrival, police located an employee who was cut on the arm from a box cutter. The employee declined medical treatment since their injury was not life-threatening.

Officers found the suspect in an adjacent parking lot and, following a short foot chase, he was taken into custody.

Police have not identified the suspect.
