Call it a cloudless rain as the corner of Smith-Enke Road and John Wayne Parkway received a shower of sorts Friday night when a water line designed for landscaping broke, blasting a geyser of water nearly 50 feet high into the street for more than an hour.
The busted water line is not thought to have any effect on residential or commercial water lines, according to Maricopa Police Sgt. Stephen Judd. “We know it didn’t involve a vehicle of any kind, but we were dispatched because it was flowing into the street,” Judd said. “It’s not a supply line that’s supplying the Walgreens or Circle K that’s here.”
