On Tuesday the Maricopa City Council voted unanimously to join the Central Arizona Regional Economic Development Foundation (CAREDF) in order to further the city’s role in regional development.

Currently the cities of Casa Grande, Coolidge and Eloy as well as Pinal County are the primary entities in CAREDF, which is promoting the area between Phoenix and Tucson, the Sun Corridor, for development and business relocation.

CAREDF’s new regional development web site has been designed to be an economic development tool for new companies and site selectors, providing assistance to them in relocating within the Sun Corridor of Pinal County.

The strategy of the new design is to regionalize community resources and demographics to present a more realistic business profile of western Pinal County. This includes promoting community and business assets within the county and leveraging the assets of Phoenix and Tucson that service those communities.

The new site is simple and easy to navigate, yet it offers comprehensive data and access to information on labor availability, available industrial sites, incentives, community profiles and more.

“This is more than just a new marketing tool,” said Cindy Sutton, President of the Board of Directors of CAREDF. “It presents a new image at a higher level of sophistication which our communities deserve.”

“The Arizona Department of Commerce was very proud to provide rural economic development grant funds in support and partnership of quality marketing projects like this,” said Deb Sydenham, Assistant Deputy Director of Community Development and Finance. “The REDI (Rural Economic Development Initiatives) program has maintained proven results in aiding the development of jobs in rural Arizona communities.”

On the web site is a creative industry facility and land locator known as Arizona Prospector. This search tool can assist a company in locating a particular size parcel of land or facility to lease or acquire within the region. CAREDF staff is asking industrial real estate brokers to continue to contact their office with information on new listings, and CAREDF will load the information into the site at no charge.

The CAREDF web site will continue to grow as new information and new members/sponsors join the organization. The web site will be promoted in targeted areas, like California, and in regions within the United States and globally.
