Maricopa city officials are negotiating a contract with the promoters behind Wild West Music Fest for a “carnival event” at Copper Sky Regional Park next month.

The contract should be finalized in the coming days, according to city spokesperson Quinn Konold.

Specifics about attractions and activities will be announced once there is an official agreement, he said.

Maricopa City Council was expected to consider a liquor license tonight for the event, which would include vendors, a stage and beer garden.

Brenda Campbell is the liquor license applicant.

“We are doing our diligence to ensure the event has the required permitting, which is all that is being discussed tonight with a liquor license,” Konold said.

The carnival is scheduled for March 22 to 24.
