Casa Grande Dairy Queen dinged in health inspections

67

The Pinal County Health Department inspected 10 eateries in Casa Grande in July, handing out perfect scores to all but the Dairy Queen at 211 E. Florence Blvd.

The ice cream specialists were marked down for not holding the soft serve at the proper temperature and for dust on the fan grates.

The violations resulted in a score of satisfactory (S).

Health inspectors conduct random inspections aimed at ensuring that all the proper steps are being taken to maintain consumer safety, Pinal County officials said. To that end, the department can issue violations that are either critical or non-critical. Critical violations must be fixed within 10 days and affect a location’s score. Non-critical violations must be fixed within 90 days.

Grades are based on the number of violations, with an “E” for excellent, being the highest possible score an establishment can receive. Other scores are: “S” for satisfactory; “U” for unacceptable; and “N” for needs improvement.

Restaurants receiving perfect scores were Golden Corral, 2082 E Florence Blvd., Starbucks, 1637 N. Trekell Rd., Bosa Donuts, 1659 E Florence Blvd., Rosati’s Pizza, 1645 N. Trekell Road, KFC, 618 E. Florence Blvd., Los Hermanos Mexican Food, 1328 E. Florence Blvd., Turtle Bay Café, 414 N. Marshall St. and Vaqueros Carne Asada, 3860 N. Pinal Ave.
