InMaricopa.com’s lastest online readers poll seems to indicate readers are saying “bah humbug” to both Valentine’s Day and the Arizona Centennial, both celebrated Tuesday.

Answering the question — Are you celebrating Valentine's Day or Arizona Centennial on Feb. 14? — 47 percent, or nearly half of the 204 respondents, said they weren't celebrating either one.

Thirty-nine percent said they were celebrating Valentine’s Day, 7 percent said they were celebrating the Arizona Centennial and 8 percent said they were celebrating both.

But at least one Maricopa couple has special plans for Valentine’s Day.

Jason Nelson and Kristin Pasley, who are getting married Aug. 25, are one of the six couples InMaricopa.com is featuring in a series of articles on what brought them together and what keeps their relationship strong. The articles currently are being published every day until Valentine's Day.

Jason said he and Kristin, who together own and operate the Papa Murphy’s pizza take out, plan to stay home and cook each other dinner.

“I will cook her favorite dinner and Kristin will cook mine,” he said. “We don’t get too much time to ourselves, so we plan to shut off the phones, lock the doors, have some wine and watch a movie.”
