Meet chamber CEO finalists Thursday

The Maricopa Chamber of Commerce is holding a meet and greet with the three finalists for the chamber’s president/chief executive officer position during a breakfast Thursday at Harrah's Ak-Chin Casino Resort, 19640 N. Maricopa Road.

The breakfast will be held 7:15 to 8:30 a.m in the main ballroom of the casino.

The three finalists are Randy King, Jim McMichael and David Sommer.

King is president and CEO of Chamber Enhancement Group LLC in Scottsdale, where he facilitated training sessions and board retreats for chambers of commerce, including the American Chamber of Commerce Executives and Western Association of Chamber Executives.

He is a published author and has given a number of keynote speeches.

James McMichael is president and CEO of Everybody’s Auto Broker LLC in Maricopa. The company acts as a consultant and advocate for consumers in the purchase or lease of vehicles. McMichael is a current Maricopa chamber member and ambassador.

David E. Sommer is a Realtor with HomeSmart in Prescott. He oversees the daily operations of the office and in 2008 was rated No. 3 in total sales for the fourth quarter of the 1,600 agents.

From 1989 to 1996, he was the president and CEO of the Spearfish Chamber of Commerce in Spearfish, S.D.

The chamber has been without a president since Terri Kingery stepped down at the end of 2010.
