The National Weather Service is predicting precipitation for Maricopa starting tonight and sporadically through the weekend.

The chance of showers tonight is 60 percent, with amounts between an tenth and a quarter of an inch possible. Winds of 15-20 mph could gust up to 30 mph. The overnight low temperature should be around 59 degrees.

Friday, the likelihood of showers and thunderstorms is 50 percent. Skies will be mostly cloudy with high near 80. Friday night, the chance of rain diminishes to 20 percent, the winds will calm, and the low will be around 57.

Saturday, for the third weekend in a row, will be sunny with a high near 84 and calm winds, according to the NWS forecast. The overnight low is expected to be 56, and the skies partly cloudy.

Sunday, the chance of rain returns stronger than ever. The prediction is 70 percent chance of showers possibly followed by thunderstorms after noon. Expect mostly cloudy skies and a high near 71. Winds will be 10-15 mph, gusting to 20 mph. Rainfall is forecast between a tenth and a quarter of an inch, more if there are thunderstorms. The overnight low will be around 53.

The chance of showers will linger Monday and Tuesday.
