Chipotle Mexican Grill has reached an agreement to lease space in the Maricopa Station development on the on northeast corner of Smith-Enke Road and John Wayne Parkway, the developer said.

Casey Treadwell, project development manager for Vintage Partners, said Chipotle plans to lease the southern end of its building that will be located just north of CVS Pharmacy.

The Maricopa City Council approved the project’s site plan, elevations, photometric and landscape on June 17.

Vintage Partners is proposing a 7,800-square-foot multi-tenant building and a 3,300-square-foot drive-through restaurant on 2.45 acres. The project is expected to be finished by late 2015.

Micah Miranda, city economic development director, said the next step is for the developer to submit construction drawings to the Development Services Department for review. The developer still needs the city to issue building permits.

“I would like to give credit to the mayor and city council for proactively reaching out to retailers and advocating for Maricopa as a destination for private sector capital investment,” Miranda said.
